Heapcon 2026 Terms of Use

Last updated: [31 August 2026]

1. About these terms

These Terms of Use govern your use of the Heapcon 2026 mobile application (the “app”), operated by Heapspace, Belgrade (Serbia), VAT number: 108772431, Registration number: 28158777 (“Heapspace”, “we”, “us”).

By creating an account or using the app you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

How we handle personal data is described separately in our Privacy Policy.

2. Who can use the app

The app is provided for attendees, speakers, sponsors and organizers of Heapcon 2026.

Accounts are created by invitation: registration requires a token we send to the email address associated with your conference ticket. You may not transfer your account to anyone else, and you are responsible for keeping your password confidential and for activity that takes place under your account.

The app is for people aged 18 or over. If you believe someone under 18 has created an account, contact us at heapcon@heapspace.rs and we will remove it.

3. Your content

You keep ownership of everything you post: feed posts, photos, comments, direct messages, talk questions and answers, and talk reviews (“your content”).

By posting, you grant Heapspace a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce and display your content for the purpose of operating the app and the conference. That licence ends when the content is removed, except where we must retain it to meet a legal obligation or to keep a record of a moderation decision.

You are responsible for your content. You confirm that you have the rights to post it, and that it does not infringe anyone else’s rights.

Removing your own content. You can delete a post, comment, question or answer you wrote for thirty minutes after posting it. Once somebody else has replied, deleting it removes the words and images but leaves a marker in the thread, so that the replies built on it still read in order. The same thirty-minute window applies to a direct message you sent, and deleting one always leaves such a marker, because it was already delivered to the person you sent it to.

Organizers and moderators can remove any post, comment, question or answer at any time. They cannot delete a direct message: only its author can.

Content does not outlast the conference. All attendee-created content in the app is deleted within 90 days after the event ends. See the Privacy Policy for detail.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to use the app to:

  • post content that is unlawful, defamatory, obscene, sexually explicit, hateful, or that promotes violence or discrimination on any basis, including race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, disability, gender, gender identity, age or sexual orientation;

  • harass, bully, threaten, stalk or impersonate anyone;

  • post anyone else’s personal information without their consent;

  • send unsolicited advertising, spam or chain messages;

  • upload malware, or attempt to gain unauthorised access to the app, other accounts, or our infrastructure;

  • scrape, bulk-collect or resell attendee data, including contact details obtained through badge scanning;

  • misrepresent your identity, employer or affiliation.

The Heapcon Code of Conduct applies in the app exactly as it applies at the venue.

5. No tolerance for objectionable content or abusive behaviour

There is no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive users on this platform.

Content that breaches Section 4, and users who engage in abusive behaviour, will be removed. Depending on severity, we may:

  • remove the content;

  • suspend or terminate the account;

  • withdraw access to the conference itself, in line with the Code of Conduct;

  • report the matter to the relevant authorities where the law requires it.

We may act on the first breach. We are not required to warn you first.

6. Reporting, blocking, and how we respond

Reporting. Every post, comment, direct message and profile in the app can be reported. Use the menu on any item, or the Report action on a profile, and select a reason.

Blocking. You can block any attendee, from their profile or from the on their content. Blocking works in both directions and takes effect immediately: their posts, comments, questions and ratings disappear from your view and yours from theirs, neither of you can message the other, and any existing connection between you is removed. You can unblock from Menu → Account → Blocked users.

Our response. We review reports and act on content that breaches these terms within 24 hours of the report being submitted, by removing the content and, where warranted, ejecting the user who posted it.

Contact. You can reach us at heapcon@heapspace.rs about anything in these terms, including a moderation decision you believe was wrong.

7. Availability

The app is provided for the duration of the Heapcon 2026 event and a reasonable period around it. We may change, suspend or discontinue any part of it, and we do not guarantee uninterrupted availability. Conference schedules and speakers shown in the app may change.

8. Ending your use

You may delete your account at any time from Menu → Account → Delete account. What is erased and what is retained is described in the Privacy Policy.

We may suspend or terminate your account if you breach these terms, or if the account is being used in a way that harms other attendees or the service.

9. Disclaimers and liability

The app is provided “as is”. Attendee profiles and posts are created by other users and we do not verify them; opinions expressed in the app are those of their authors.

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Heapspace is not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of the app, or for the conduct of other attendees. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Serbia. Mandatory consumer protection rights available to you under the law of your country of residence are unaffected.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. Material changes will be announced in the app or by email. Continuing to use the app after a change takes effect means you accept the revised terms.
