A party promoter and a DJ about 20 years ago, before the music became boring. Currently a collector, owning more than 2000 oldschool electronica music CDs. Before his previous contract, he decided to take almost a full year break of which 5 months were spent travelling across South America. During the trip he lost his phone, got his laptop almost destroyed, and was robbed from the room. But also he ran the half-marathon in the high Andes, visited the southernmost inhabited city in the world, and hiked the Acotango peak, which is 6000 meters above sea level.

Let’s create a11y automated testing suite from scratch!

Accessibility is often treated as a compliance checkbox, yet most modern web applications still fail basic assistive technology scenarios. For most of us, the biggest challenge is not willingness - it is uncertainty about where to start, what actually matters and how to test accessibility efficiently. This talk shares a practical journey of introducing accessibility testing into frontend projects from scratch. Starting with zero prior expertise, I will walk through the process of building an effective and scalable a11y testing workflow for modern web applications. We will cover the key accessibility concepts and practical engineering topics: automation, CI integration, tooling and reliable testing patterns that can be applied immediately in real projects.
