In this talk, we delve into the trenches of performance testing, drawing from our wealth of experience with systems under heavy loads. We'll share our journey, focusing on the practical aspects of asynchronous testing, the challenges it presents, and the innovative methods we've employed to overcome them. We will discuss bespoke Kafka load generator, an in-house developed tool that has become a cornerstone of our testing strategy due to its flexibility and realistic load simulation. We'll also cover the nuances of stress testing, demonstrating how we've pushed systems to their limits, and load and spike testing, where we've prepared for both the expected and the unexpected.
