Excerpt

Microservices are great, but often those small services share a fair amount of code for trivial functionality. Wouldn’t it be great if you could simply abstract your service discovery, state management and inter-service communication away?

Dapr (Distributed Application Runtime) to the rescue! Dapr is an open-source framework that simplifies building distributed applications by providing developers with a set of building blocks for building resilient, scalable, and portable cloud-native applications.

In this talk, we will explore what Dapr is, how it works, its advantages and disadvantages, and most importantly, whether it’s a good fit for your next project.
